This Shabbat, as we gather as a Conservative/Masorti community for #SolidarityShabbat,to offer our prayers and our support, we invite all of us to also pause and remember our family and friends in the US, who were tragically taken from us in the greatest act of violent antisemitism in the United States, at the Pittsburgh shooting at synagogue Tree of Life-Or L’Simcha in Pittsburgh.
There is room in our hearts for love of all of our Jewish family during these trying times, there are also enough tears that we shed this Shabbat, crying from the depths of our souls against all acts of violence and hatred, in Israel, in the United States and wherever Jews are attacked.
When we gather this #SolidarityShabbat, we will share words of wisdom and inspiration from this resilient Pittsburgh community, who like our ancestors across time, have risen from their terrible event to rebuild and celebrate their Jewish traditions and legacies, as a way of paying tribute to their loved ones lost in that tragedy.
